Children & Teenagers – Hypnotherapy Sessions Wakefield

Hypnotherapy is a safe relaxation which allows children and teenagers to release deep rooted negative beliefs which may have been picked up from television, media, school or family.  These bad feelings can manifest in the child causing bad habits such as nail biting.

Often children worry about things from the news such a robberies and murder working it up in their minds to fear of it happening to them or their family. If a child’s anxiety has a specific cause this can develop into a fear. If the fear becomes more powerful it can interfere with everyday life becoming a phobia.

Boys and girls from an early age are influenced by body images in the media and begin to aspire to looking a certain way.  This can mean they compare themselves to others often leaving them feeling insecure about themselves. Added to this is exam stress, peer pressure, sibling rivalry and feeling they don’t fit within the family, this can really affect their performance and confidence.

Hypnosis is a great way to get children back on track with their thinking allowing them to feel good about themselves and the environment they live in. Every child is going to experience some emotion and upset during their childhood years, but when the problem is around for a while, or gets in the way of their everyday life, then its at that point that something needs to be done.

Common reasons for children to seek help with hypnotherapy:

How can hypnotherapy help children and teenagers?

Hypnotherapy can be used for children and teenagers who are often overwhelmed with feelings and emotions that they simply don’t understand, or where they don’t have the coping mechanisms in place yet.

Hypnotherapy can release negative beliefs and help them with the emotions that they may not be able to express allowing the child or teenager to get on with living a full and rewarding life. Sometimes a child doesn’t know how to explain themselves and using their imagination through hypnotherapy it can be an outlet for their emotion….. allowing them to express themselves, often without having to say a word.

I can put together a treatment plan, in most cases one session will be enough to make a difference although improvement my take a few days or a couple of weeks to show, The number of sessions required varies depending on the nature of the problem.

Older children and teenagers respond well to a few sessions helping them change their way of thinking.

The biggest influence on your child is yourself as a parent and how you interact with the world and respond to life. I recommend parents have a hypnotherapy session for themselves to restore balance to their stress levels and get their mind working in a positive way to bring the best out of themselves and their children.

Working with young children has specific considerations, confidentiality and safety. If your child is wanting the change then contact me as a first step.

Client Testimonials

I had received hypnotherapy a number of years previously for treating agoraphobia and I found it very effective and changed my life. The problem of anxiety arose after my mum and dad passed away 3 years ago, and I felt sure it would help me again.
I was right. In contacting Lynne I found it really helpful. I felt more confident and less worried about the future. I found Lynne to be very professional but friendly and very approachable which I personally feel is why my treatment was successful.
It wasn’t just the hypnotherapy, it was working together with Lynne and putting things in place that I could use at home if I suffered a “blip”.
I would recommend anyone to be treated with hypnotherapy in this way as it is very successful, and has worked for me.

I sought the help of Lynne because I was struggling with alcohol. I am not addicted to alcohol but when I had to socialise I drank excessively to give me confidence. It did not matter if I knew them well or not at all. I would always drink before I went out would get really drunk become argumentative say and do things I would never do sober or a little tipsy. Lynn helped me through hypnosis what in my past could be one of the reasons I do this and gave me coping techniques. It has been approx. 10 months since I last had hypnotherapy and with the exception of a couple of lapses I have really controlled my alcohol intake at social events and people have commented I have done well and they are proud of me.

The results were almost instant, as you put my life in perspective. I could see things for what they were and the self-help i.e. breathing and techniques really worked for me.
I’ve not looked back.
I’ve not had an episode at all, I’ve cut down on my drinking. Losing weight slowly and feel generally more motivated. I’ve started to wean myself off the panic attack meds under guidance from docs, and I’m doing great.
I wouldn't think twice about returning to see you if I felt I needed it as you were very easy to talk to and put me at ease straight away. My life at the moment is great, and this is all because you taught me about my life and put it in order.
Can’t thank you enough
